The Glacier Bike Tour travels along the tracks of the world's slowest express train – and lines up record after record on its way. From the largest to the sunniest Swiss canton, we have compiled the most impressive, peculiar, longest, smallest and largest superlatives.

  • The Glacier Express holds the title of being the world's slowest express train. The journey takes 8 hours and travels across 291 bridges and through 91 tunnels. 

  • Europe’s highest scheduled boat service operates on Lake Sils. 

  • The Cresta Run, the Olympic bobsleigh run in St. Moritz, was inaugurated in 1904 and is the world’s oldest bobsleigh run still in use. 

  • The Hotel Waldhaus am See in St. Moritz boasts the biggest whisky bar in the world. 

  • In October 2022, the Rhaetian Railway set the world record with the longest passenger train: a 1,910-meter-long train consisting of 100 carriages. 

  • The Glacier Express is the slowest express train in the world.

  • Fürstenau is the smallest town in the world. 

  • At the age of 33, Andreas Caminada became the youngest three-star chef in Europe. 

  • The Domleschg is not only the orchard of Graubünden, but also the valley with the most castles in the canton. 

  • The Alpine Rhine is the largest source for Lake Constance.

  • With its 494m, the Charles Kuonen suspension bridge near Randa is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the Alps.
